Danté LeRaé Fantastic album. I really love her live album as well. Her voice is soulful, yet with some really fantastic folky guitar playing, smooth rhythms and beautiful song content don't pass this up. Favorite track: Follow The White Rabbit.

Follow the White Rabbit (Alison Wonderland) One by One by One by One by One Follow him down into the ether Until he cannot see the sun. Falling, Fading, Crashing into a dream Till she rises in her size And she is bursting at the seams No there’s nothing as it seems Into a span Little girl in the wonderland Can’t escape from the place she’s in The colors change But the crazy world Wont just fade away Two by two by two by two by two Take the oysters by the hand and lead them down into the blue Jesting, teasing, playing, calling her name Asking questions without answer Is it really just the same Though no, nothing else has changed Into a span Little girl in the wonderland Can’t escape from the place she’s in The colors change But the crazy world Wont just fade away

Do you still Love me How you doin’ tell me how have you been? Please spare a minute for a dear old friend Boy, did we go wild from time to time How’s your momma and your dear old dad? Your sister Bonnie she grew up so fast Hope they’re all just fine, tell them I said “hi” But there’s just one thing I’ve been wanting to know and put to rest this poor and aching soul… Do you still smile on your own? And do you still wait in the dark by the phone? Are you happy now? (x3) If it’s true then I’ll leave you to be But if over the years you maybe thought of me… There’s just one more thing Do you still love me? Oh, do you still love me now…? Don’t want to argue and I don’t want to fight Don’t mean to interrupt your life But I just can’t help the way I’ve always felt Your looking lovely you know that hasn’t changed I’d always pictured you’d be aging this way And how I wish that I could wake up by your side But there’s just one thing I’ve been wanting to know and put to rest this poor and aching soul… Do you still smile on your own? And do you still wait in the dark by the phone? Are you happy now? (x3) If it’s true then I’ll leave you to be But if over the years you maybe thought of me… There’s just one more thing Do you still love me? Oh, do you still love me now…?

My very Own Monster Killer I quiver cold as ice I feel a shiver down my side A shadow and a creak The floorboards speak to me Well I know what I saw There’s a man in the dark or a thing like a creature of sorts “A Monster” he says, he lives “under my bed” or inside of my closet doors please, appease me I scare so easily… No matter the clatter, The eye in the peep hole It’s just a story meant to scare all the people Sleep now aint no boogy man goin come around No fear cause Im here, your safe with me right now But Im tired I gotta turn all the lights down Brave the night, and I’m sure that you’ll be all right He said that I’d be alright… Beneath my safety sheets He cannot get what he cant see Arms up in the air He tries to steal a scare Well I know what I saw There’s a man in the dark or a thing like a creature of sorts Came equipped with a plan And a list of demands And a scared little girl to implore Please, appease me I scare so easily… No matter the clatter, The eye in the peep hole It’s just a story meant to scare all the people Sleep now aint no boogy man goin come around No fear cause Im here, your safe with me right now But Im tired I gotta turn all the lights down Brave the night, and I’m sure that you’ll be all right He said that I’d be alright…

Shotgun City 04:07
Shot Gun City Pick up, pick up, pick up, pick up, pick up, pick up I’ve been calling you for days The man on the line said that you weren’t around Tell me, where are you now? Still, what is there left to say? Too tired to shout, to lonely to go away But I want to know your ok That you’re living your life And not lost in the heart of the shot gun city. Steer clear of the lights And look at the moon And when you look at the sky I’m looking at the same sky As you. Pick up, pick up, pick up, pick up, pick up, pick up Oh I’m a little bit worried now I’ve called several times and after it rings I get the message machine Still, what is there left to say? Too tired to shout, to lonely to go away But I want to know your ok That you’re living your life And not lost in the heart of the shot gun city. Steer clear of the lights And look at the moon And when you look at the sky I’m looking at the same sky As you.

Black Sheep 03:56
Black Sheep Here’s your chance You can go if it pleases you I hope that newer pastures are what you need Greener, then what I could give to you Black, Black sheep I wont call you no color Black sheep You only are cause you say you are Buy your coat Gift or curse but I didn’t brand you this way Stand alone in a home With a welcome sign But your shadows your own You black, black sheep I wont call you no color Black sheep You only are cause you say you are You made the bed You lay alone There’s nothing I can do for you You wouldn’t want me too No, So certain you know the way Go ahead go ahead Dig an honest grave You made the bed You lay alone There’s nothing I can do for you You wouldn’t want me too No, So certain you know the way Go ahead go ahead Dig an honest grave Here’s your chance You can go if it pleases you I hope that newer pastures are what you need Greener, then what I could give to you Black, Black sheep I wont call you no color Black sheep You only are cause you say you are The Black Sheep

about

At the young age of 23, Jennah Bell is already a titan of sound. She wields her power with a rare benevolence and just a touch of irreverence. Raised in Oakland, California, and sharpening her chops at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, skilled eclecticism is the hallmark of Jennah’s creed. Perhaps that’s why her music is ferocious, in a quirky, humble way. Her debut EP, Early Bird, deftly alternates influences derived from Bluegrass, Dub, Rock, Funk, and even a bit of Hip-Hop. Jennah’s a whiz with her acoustic guitar, and even unplugged, has the capacity to move audiences to tears.

Early Bird, then, is the perfect proclamation of this young chanteuse’s entrance into the hearts and headphones of listeners the world ‘round. Bell tackles loves songs like “Follow the White Rabbit” with reckless abandon, pens laments with the best of them with songs like “Shotgun City”, and carries deft lyricism with a gracious, breathy lilt. Free to hear at bandcamp.jennahbell.com, and yours to keep for the low donation of $5, Early Bird is a scrumptious 5-track introduction to an artist that will keep you captivated for years to come.
